Goose down is the most efficient and effective insulator available oz for oz , any of our down duvet, down comforter products have equivalent insulation power as 10 or more of regular blanket due to the 3 dimensional structure of the down cluster. The bigger it is,the better it can hold warm air and the better insulator it is. Goose down cluster are bigger than duck down, therefore it is much better insulator for the same weight. You should use a duvet cover at all time to protect it from dirt and dust. Under reasonable use, it should last virtually forever. We recommend you use professional dry cleaner . Otherwise, washing duvet is possible. Wash it in a bathtub using warm water and mild soap, not detergent. Rinse well to remove soap residue. Place your duvet tumble dry in a regular size dryer on medium or low heat, along with a clean tennis shoe to prevent the down and feathers from clumping. You must dry it thoroughly because mildew process destroy your duvet. Line dry your duvet if you prefer and let it either tumble dry in a dryer as above or shake it vigorously to eliminate clumping of down.
